Nexidia Announces Forensic Audio Search for Electronic Discovery
Apr. 11, 2006
New Audio Search and Review Software Revolutionizes
Atlanta, April 11, 2006 -- Nexidia, the leading provider of audio search and speech analytics solutions for government intelligence, contact center management, and Internet media, today announced the availability of Nexidia Enterprise Speech Intelligence (ESI) 6.0 for Electronic Discovery. This software makes electronic audio search faster and more efficient to meet the needs of today’s legal environment.
Until recently, audio records were not considered as documents for discovery because the audio was not readily accessible and could not be easily searched and analyzed. But the growth of electronic communications like voicemail and digital conference calling, and new regulations governing industries like financial services and energy trading, have resulted in a growing volume of audio content that is now part of the legal record.
Traditionally, organizations have used manual transcription and sampled listening for discovery within audio files. However, transcription is slow and costly, and sampled listening is not an effective way to find those few utterances that can make or break a case. Additionally, neither of these methods can scale to handle the growing amount of audio that is available for discovery.
With its patent-pending Phonetic Search Engine (PSE) Nexidia ESI 6.0 indexes recorded audio 83 times faster than the spoken word, making large volumes of audio searchable in the most efficient manner. Nexidia ESI 6.0 premieres Forensic Search, allowing users to quickly and easily conduct searches on large sets of audio files. The Nexidia technology not only allows for faster audio search by identifying phoneme patterns, it provides higher accuracy than dictionary-dependent, speech-to-text based audio search. Its advanced query technology and metadata integration allow users to drill deep to generate highly relevant search results.
“The new Federal Rules related to Electronic Discovery will confirm that voicemail and other forms of audio are discoverable in litigation. ESI 6.0 offers the fastest, most accurate, and most economical solution available today,” said John Willcutts, president and CEO of Nexidia. “It opens up the vast and growing world of audio mining and speech analytics to legal professionals who can now more quickly locate and review audio files.”
