Sessions to focus on driving business value through speech analytics & advances in phonetic-based real-time monitoring
ATLANTA, GA. - August 10, 2009 - Nexidia, the market-leading provider of audio search and speech analytics solutions, today announced that two of their speech analytics experts will be speaking at SpeechTEK 2009. Vice President of Professional Services Mike Hutchison will be participating in a panel discussion entitled "Using Analytics to Drive Value." In addition, Nexidia's Vice President of Incubation and Principal Language Scientist, Dr. Marsal Gavalda, will present on "Phonetic-Based Real-Time Monitoring." The world's biggest speech technology conference and exhibition, SpeechTEK 2009 is held August 23-27, 2009 at the Marriott Marquis in New York City.
Panel Discussion: "Using Analytics to Drive Value"
The panel, "Using Analytics to Drive Value" including Mike Hutchison, will be held on Mon., Aug. 24, 2009, from 2:15 PM - 3:00 PM as part of the Business Strategies track. This session will focus on how contact centers face the challenge of cutting costs in today's economy while maintaining superior customer service. Moreover, it will discuss how analytics offers the unparalleled ability to harness the huge amount of customer data available to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and better customer experience.
As Vice President of Professional Services for Nexidia, Hutchison is a seasoned veteran with more than a decade of contact center management experience in multiple outsourced environments. He works directly with some of today's leading organizations, helping them to realize the far-reaching benefits of speech analytics. Previously, Hutchison directed 1,000-plus person contact center operations and managed worldwide workforce optimization for industry-leading outsourcer, Telvista.
Advanced Speech Technologies: "Phonetic-Based Real-Time Monitoring"
Dr. Gavalda's session, titled "Phonetic-Based Real-Time Monitoring," will be held on Tues., Aug. 25, 2009, from 11:45 AM - 12:30 PM as part of the Advanced Speech Technologies track. The session will focus on state-of-the-art implementations and deployments of real-time monitoring solutions, including integration with VoIP telephony platforms and customization of triggers and actions. A phonetic-based speech engine optimized for processing thousands of audio streams in real-time with sub-second latency will be presented along with novel approaches to improving search accuracy.
With more than 15 years of experience building computer systems that understand aspects of human language, Dr. Gavalda holds a Ph.D. in Language and Information Technologies and a M.S. in Computational Linguistics, both from Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to Nexidia, he served as Director of Language Technologies at Dictaphone and as Senior Research Scientist at M*Modal. Dr. Gavalda speaks six languages fluently and is also the author of over 30 scholarly publications and half a dozen patents.
