Nexidia Hires Experienced Litigator from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission
Dec. 04, 2006
ATLANTA and WASHINGTON D.C., December 04, 2006 -- Nexidia, the developer and provider of the most effective phonetic based technology for rich media search and speech analytics solutions announced today that David Fishel, Esq. has joined the company as the Senior Director-Technology Counsel.
Fishel, based in Washington, D.C., joined Nexidia to lead the expansion of the company’s presence in the legal market by creating partnerships with law firms, litigation support providers and corporate clients. He will also be supporting the development of Nexidia’s recently launched eDiscovery OnDemand solutions.
“I’m looking forward to being able to provide the attorney’s perspective to Nexidia,” said Fishel. “This technology can assist organizations in several ways, including: rapidly focusing litigants on relevant information; providing compliance professionals a way to monitor one hundred percent of recorded conversations; and significantly reducing the time and cost of audio evidence review. Based on my experience, the value of this innovative technology is undeniable.”
Companies with large collections of sound recordings have created a demand for solutions that provide timely, accurate and scalable data from recorded audio content. Nexidia’s phonetic audio-search based solutions enable these companies to be more productive and successful in their endeavors.
The growth of electronic communications such as voicemail and digital conference calling, and increasing scrutiny in financial services and energy trading sectors, have resulted in a rapid expansion of business audio recordings. Recent revisions to federal and state laws have made it clear that audio recordings are subject to the same discovery as other forms of evidence, such as business documents and email.
Fishel has extensive experience in litigation and electronic discovery. Prior to joining Nexidia, Fishel held the position of Attorney-Advisor at the Office of Market Oversight and Investigations (OMOI) and at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). While at FERC his primary focus was conducting investigations in various energy markets, and developing the technology infrastructure for the investigators of OMOI.
Fishel’s additional experience includes nine years as a Trial Attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice, Environmental Enforcement Section (EES), where he concentrated on complex civil litigation enforcement of federal environmental laws.
