Nexidia Increases Index Speed of Audio Files by 24%
Feb. 21, 2007
Continued Investment in Research and Development Solidifies Industry Leadership
ATLANTA, February 21, 2007 -- Nexidia, the developer of the most effective phonetic based technology for rich media search and speech analytics solutions, today announced that they have significantly increased their technology’s indexing and search speeds to help companies uncover valuable data from their audio files.
Nexidia has optimized the algorithms of their own core phonetic-based audio search technology, resulting in greater index and search speeds. With these enhancements the index speed has increased from 66 to 82 times faster than real-time and the search speed has increased from 169,000 to 548,000 times faster than real-time on the same hardware. This solidifies Nexidia’s industry leading ability to index audio data faster than any other audio search technology available today.
As a result of both Nexidia’s enhanced technology and the use of more powerful hardware, the index speed is 341 times faster than real-time on a single dual processor server, which means the technology can render over 8,000 hours of audio data searchable per day. As a result, Nexidia delivers the most competitive total cost of ownership for audio search and analysis while allowing companies to quickly review the entirety of their audio data.
As companies look for insights in their recorded audio files, it is critical that they have a solution that will allow them to search quickly and accurately. Significantly increasing the scalability and index time of audio search has been a focus for many vendors in the speech analytics industry and Nexidia continues to deliver major technological advances to its customers.
“Indexing (ingestion) and search speeds are critical issues as they impact a system’s usability and total cost of ownership,” says Donna Fluss, president, DMG Consulting. “Technical and functional innovation is speeding up the pace of adoption and delivering improved speech analytics solutions to the market.”
We continue to push the limits of audio search technology by focusing on our core strategy of making audio/video search scalable for the enterprise and available to all markets,” said John Willcutts, president and chief executive officer of Nexidia. “We will maintain our leadership in the audio search market by continuing to invest in research and development initiatives.”
Technical Details:
- Previous index speed: 66 times faster than real-time on a single 3.8 GHz processor
