Nexidia's Innovation Leads to Statewide Recognition
Mar. 01, 2007
Technology Association of Georgia Announces Top 10 Technology Innovators
ATLANTA, March 01, 2007 -- Nexidia, the developer and provider of the most effective phonetic-based technology for rich media search and speech analytics solutions, today announced that they have been chosen as one of the top 10 innovative companies in the state, by the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG).
Enterprises, content providers, government agencies and the legal market use Nexidia’s accurate, scalable search solution to quickly derive valuable insight from their massive volumes of recorded audio and video files.
The company’s patent-pending Phonetic Search Engine technology uses phonemes, the smallest unit of human speech, to pinpoint specific instances of spoken words or phrases. Nexidia offers the only technology that can find proper names, industry terms and jargon without extensive training and maintenance of cumbersome dictionaries. Silence and music detection, as well as speaker, language and gender identification are other capabilities of the technology. Nexidia supports 30 languages in addition to various accents and dialects.
"Congratulations to Nexidia for making this year's Top 10 list,” said Tino Mantella, president of TAG. "Nearly 100 companies applied this year, the highest in the history of the Top 40 program.”
The TAG Top 10 are selected from the Top 40 list and chosen based on a number of criteria, including: degree of innovation, scope and financial impact of innovation, likelihood of success, and promotion of Georgia's innovative efforts nationally and internationally. Companies selected to be in the Top 10 presented at the annual Georgia Technology Summit on February 28 before nearly 800 of the state's technology leaders.
Nexidia recently announced a significant increase in their indexing and search speeds due to the optimization of their proprietary technology.
